What to expect after tinting your car windows and how to look after your tints to ensure longevity of the film

What to expect
after tinting

After your windows are tinted, it’s normal to notice small water bubbles, streaks, or hazy patches under the film. These are simply tiny pockets of moisture trapped during installation. As the film cures, this moisture evaporates through the tint and the glass, this is a process that can take 3 to 5 days in warm weather, or up to 1–2 weeks in cooler or more humid conditions.

Once fully cured, your tint will look perfectly clear and smooth.
You should only be concerned if you notice large bubbles, peeling edges, or significant dust trapped beneath the film after two weeks, as these may indicate an issue that needs to be checked, please get in touch with us if you do notice anything.

Wait 48 hours to put windows down

After installation, keep your windows rolled up for 48 hours to allow the film’s adhesive to fully cure and bond to the glass. Rolling windows down too soon can cause the film to lift, bubble, or crease. In cooler or more humid weather, curing may take a little longer.

Wait Before Cleaning New Tints

After installation, wait 3–5 days before cleaning your windows. This gives the film time to cure and fully adhere, cleaning too early can cause peeling, bubbles, or streaks.

Use Tint-Safe
Cleaners

Always use ammonia-free glass cleaners—ammonia can break down the tint over time. We recommend GLAS - PROFESSIONAL GLASS CLEANER.

Remove Contaminants Quickly

In case of bird droppings, tree sap, or other stubborn stains, clean the affected area promptly using a waterless wash, we recommend Silke - Gloss Enhancing Car Detailer.

Use a Microfibre
Cloth

Avoid paper towels or abrasive cloths—they can scratch the film.
Use a clean, soft microfibre cloth for both washing and drying to avoid streaks and damage, we recommend TÖRSTIG - MICROFIBRE DRYING TOWEL.

Don’t Use Blades or Scrapers

Never use razor blades, scrapers, or anything sharp on tinted windows—even small scratches can permanently damage the film.

Avoid Washing in
Direct Sunlight

Avoid washing your car tints in direct sunlight because the heat causes cleaners and water to evaporate too quickly, leaving streaks, water spots, and potential damage to the film. Sudden temperature changes can stress the tint layers, leading to bubbling or edge lift over time. For best results, clean in the shade using a tint-safe, ammonia-free cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth.
